Santa & Cole
Santa & Cole, founded in 1985 by Nina Masó, Javier Nieto Santa, and Gabriel Ordeig Cole during a period of major transformation in Spain, is a design-driven lighting brand renowned for its humanistic approach to illumination. The brand began by creating bespoke lighting for Barcelona’s iconic bars, and quickly found its way into the homes of their loyal patrons.
At a time when halogen lighting and cold, technical aesthetics dominated the market, Santa & Cole took a different path—embracing natural materials like wood, stitched cardboard, and fabric ribbons to craft lighting that was warm, tactile, and inviting. This philosophy brought a softer, more intimate ambiance to interiors, enhancing both comfort and aesthetics.
In the 1990s, following the Barcelona Olympics, the brand expanded into modular lighting solutions for large public spaces, launching standout collections like Estadio and Moaré. With the rise of LED technology in the early 21st century, Santa & Cole remained true to its core values—developing collections such as Cirio and Tekiò, which emphasized lighting as a tool not just for visibility, but for creating atmosphere.
Santa & Cole believes that light should enhance the beauty of objects, people, and spaces, and continues to design lighting that enriches environments—day or night—by blending thoughtful design with a deeply human touch.
